There may be spoilers the rest of the review

Verdict: Suspenseful Horror

Story: All Girls Weekend starts as four old high school friends Daniela (Carpenter), Gem (Calero), Stephanie (Lakhani) along with the outsider of the group Nancy (Bernadette) who also brings her own friend Annie (Calvin) go away from a weekend in the woods.

During their adventure the group go for a hike only to find themselves lost in the woods with Annie injured. Continuing to find themselves lost it isn’t long until the friends find out there is an evil force within the woods as they must fight to survive.

All Girls Weekend is a story that is needed for horror a very simple concept of friends stuck in the woods. Well I know this isn’t as simple as this as we do get the old school tension between friends and looking at how their lives have changed. The story does seem to have elements of Cabin Fever, Evil Dead and The Descent but this mixed together comes off very well because we get to see the best parts all come through the story. for horror stories this is easy to follow and can be enjoyed.

Actor Review

Jamie Bernadette: Nancy is the outsider of the old friends, she seems to be distant from the rest so much so that she brings her friend along for their weekend. Nancy comes off as the strongest of the women even if she is reluctant to get involved with the fun. Jamie is a strong lead in this film being the bad girl trying to keep friends safe.

Katie Carpenter: Daniela is the leader of the friends who has planned the whole trip, she has changed herself because of how she was bullied through school but always just wants to help out in the situation. She is also the one that made the decision to go hiking believing she knows the way back. Katie is good in this role being the caring member of the friends.

Gema Calero: Gem comes off as the clumsy member of the friends which adds to the comedy between the friends as she gets to become the butt of many of the jokes. Gema is good in this role as she does help take the edge of certain serious moments as we are wait for the ‘what has Gem done now’ moment.

Karishma Lakhani: Stephanie is the diva of the friends, all hyped about going into the wilderness but not without her technology. She gets many of the state the obvious lines. Karishma plays her role well but I do wish we get to see more from her character in the film.

Sharron Calvin: Annie is the friend that Nancy brings along on the trip, she is struggling with her recent divorce with this being the chance to enjoy herself. Sharron is solid in this role where we don’t get enough time for her character develop.

Support Cast: All Girls Weekend really only has the characters from the opening scene which we never learn their true identity for supporting cast.
