Story: Alice starts when we head to a plantation where slaves Alice (Palmer) and Moses (Farmer) are being treated badly by their owners. Paul (Miller) runs the plantation however, some of the events they see don’t add up.

When Alice manages to escape the plantation, she finds a new world outside the tree line. One that she never knew existed and offers her a brand-new life.

Verdict on Alice

Alice is a drama following a woman who believed she was only ever a slave. However, when she escapes the plantation, she finds herself in the middle of the civil rights movement in America. Here, she finds herself at a crossroads in life questioning what she has been through.

This is an interesting concept for a movie. We had previously seen another movie try to pull this concept off in the past with Antebellum. However, this time we get a much more grounded story that doesn’t rely on horror. We get to see the emotional damage done to somebody forced to go through the things Alice experiences. It has part dealing with a sudden entry to the civil rights movement against the backdrop of how badly slaves were treated.

Final Thoughts Alice is a smart twist on a thriller idea.
