Alfre Woodard Joins The Cast of ‘Twelve Years A Slave’

Looks like we have another chance to see the acting chops of Alfre Woodward (Ruby Jean Rynolds).  It has just been announced by The Hollywood Reporter that she will be joining the cast of ‘Twelve Years A Slave’ which will also be starting Chiwitel Ejiofor, Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender.  The film will be directed by Steve McQueen.

The movie will be based on a autobiography that was written in 1853 by Solomon Northup.  He was a fee black man who became enslaved.  It looks like the movie script will be telling how Northup ended up being kidnapped and then put into a slave pen paving way for a horrible life under a bunch of differ owners.

Alfe will be playing Mistress Shaw who was a former slave that has risen in the southern caste system.

There are no dates on production or even when they are thinking of releasing this picture but when we do get the information make sure to come back here to get it.
