Alexander Skarsgård is, thankfully, not at all shy about showing a little skin. His role as Sheriff Eric Northman on True Blood has revealed many of the Swedish actor’s many assets, and now there’s a large fan following cheering for Skarsgård to nab the lead erotic role in the soon to be feature film, Fifty Shades of Grey. Not familiar with it? Neither was Skarsgård. When he sat down recently to chat with Access Hollywood, he got an introduction to the steamy novel / future film:
“He’s [Christian, the lead character] got a sex chamber? My character has that on ‘True Blood.’ He’s got his little dungeon…Where do I sign? I was born to play that part.”
Skarsgård is currently filming season 5 of True Blood, where he’s been working closely with former Law & Order: SVU actor Christopher Meloni, who plays new Vampire Authority character Roman:
“He’s amazing. It wasn’t easy. His first day was basically him coming in. It was five pages of dialogue. Half of it was in Aramaic. That was like, ‘Welcome to the show, Chris.’ But he’s a trooper, a really amazing actor – obviously — and a great guy. We’ve had a lot of fun together on the show.”
Season 5 premieres on HBO on June 10th. We’re getting so close, Truebies!
