National Dengue Control Unit Chief Consultant Dr. Sudath Samaraweera yesterday said nearly 50,000 dengue patients have been reported throughout the country since January this year.
Dr.Samaraweera said more than 2,700 Dengue patients were reported throughout the country during the course of this month along.
Health officials said that the number of dengue and rat fever patients are on the increase. They said that there is a apparent increase in the rat fever cases with intermittent rains experiencing in several parts of the country.
