Alentejo Skies

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy
Alentejo, Portugal

above Monsaraz

The Alentejo is Portugal’s largest region and the least populated, a very different sort of landscape compared to the rest of the mainland. Many visitors skip right over it, favouring the coastline. While it’s true that you’ll need more time and a vehicle to visit the Alentejo, it will also reward you with a theatrical backdrop of sky: big, fluffy clouds and the occasional dramatic storm clouds to keep you on your toes. Plus sheep and cows.

Anyway, on with the photos… these were all taken on our September 2014 road trip. Click on any to enlarge.
