Story: Alchemy of the Spirit starts when artist Oliver (Berkeley) wakes up in the middle of the night to discover his wife Evelyn (Clarke) has passed away. Oliver gets transported into a world without his wife by his side. One where he starts seeing her for a final series of communications before his time with her running out.
The more time he spends with Evelyn, the more distorted his reality becomes. Seeing him question his own reality in a world without the person he loved the most.
Verdict on Alchemy of the Spirit
Alchemy of the Spirit is an artistic drama following a man dealing with the sudden death of his wife. This sees him making a connection with her spirit as he looks to channel the sudden grief placed upon him. While trying to continue his life as if nothing has happened.
This is a moving movie that gets to show a different view of how sudden loss can hit people. It shows us how the man grieves in a way we haven’t seen before. This ends up having a spiritual feeling that leaves us wanting to spend more time in the world, like Oliver in the movie. It is a lovely story showing the pure love the two have.
Final Thoughts – Alchemy of the Spirit is a lovely story about pure love.
