Alan Ball Talks About His Thoughts on the Season 6 Premiere

Posted on the 18 June 2013 by Tbfansource @tbfansource

True Blood creator Alan Ball attended the season 6 premiere last week in Hollywood and after it aired on Sunday, TV Guide’s Natalie Abrams posted what he thought of Who Are You Really. Ball served as both creator and showrunner through season 5 and tapped writer and producer Mark Hudis to succeed him. Hudis stepped down early on into production this year and Brian Buckner took his place. Though Alan is no longer running the show on a day to day basis, he is still an executive producer on True Blood. So what did he think of the premiere?

“I loved it. I thought it was the perfect mix of scares, action and humor. It really makes me want to see what happens next.”

Unlike the past 5 seasons, Alan says he’ll be watching as a fan this season primarily. He offered his advice on the show this year. But he mostly enjoyed a nice break from showrunning:

“I offered what advice I had and I said, ‘If you guys need me, feel free to come to me. But basically I just sat back because I left the show because I was pretty burned out. So, I just sat back and lived my life for a while. It was hard at first, but now I like it. I may never work again.”

Something tells me Alan will always be working on some project! But it’s nice to hear that he is enjoying time off. What do you think Truebies? Sound off in the comments!
