Freshen up before your journey begins in the comfort of Al Dhabi Lounge where your needs are catered to. The lounge was recently honored with the Highly Commended Award by the members of Priority Pass in the Priority Pass Lounge of the Year 2012. But I didn’t understand why the award.
I honestly didn’t understand why they won an award. The lounge has nothing extraordinary to offer. It’s a good lounge with average features offering the bare necessities. It is clean overall and professional. But it lacks the smell of freshness.
You enter into a large salon covered with thick carpets where individual red, blue and beige leather sofas are organized all around the three distinctive rooms. A wooden cozy ambiance adds a touch of luxury, easing your senses.
The different sections this lounge has to offer:
- Three distinctive areas for relaxation before your flight
- Showers
- A smoking room
- Individual televisions
- Two drinks bars
- A station for fruits and cold cuts
- A station for hot food, where you can have a decent lunch or dinner
- A private VIP area you can book in advance
- A prayer room
- A children area
- Rest rooms are professional with a five star hotel feel. Cleaning gel and moisturizing creams are provided by Damana and clean white towels are individually rolled next to a fresh flower arrangements
- The choice of food is good
- They have a closed smoking room for those craving for a nicotine
- The sofas are relaxing
- Arabic coffee is offered at the exit
- The three different sections are separated by a honeycomb wooden wall which does not provide total comfort and privacy. Impolite screaming passengers can be heard. I would have preferred them to be fully separated. Families should be on one side and businessmen on another.
- All windows are closed. Sunlight is not welcome into this area which is often located facing the runway with a nice view on the tarmac.
