This Qatar A380 was spotted at London Heathrow, one of eight operated (two already retired) by the flag carrier of Qatar. This 2006 Qatar Airways livery has an oryx, the national animal of the State of Qatar, painted on the tail. The world’s largest passenger airliner, the A380 made its first flight in April 2005 and began commercial service with Qatar Airways in 2014. The airline has announced plans to retire them in 2024, replaced with Airbus A350 and Boeing 777X aircraft. Airbus ended A380 production in 2021 after its main customer, Emirates, agreed to drop an order for 39 of the aircraft.
