This Virgin A340 approaches touchdown after the long flight from London. In August 2002, Virgin became the first airline to operate the Airbus A340-600 and currently operates seven of these aircraft and plans to remove them from service to be replaced with the A350-1000. Production of the type ended in 2011 after 377 were delivered and the market dried up with the transition to twin-engined aircraft such as the Boeing 787 for long distance routes.  Nikon D500 w/Tamron 150-600mm.
