Allegiant is a discount airline that saved costs operating only MD-80 family aircraft. Unfortunately the average age of the fleet (29 yrs) led to increased flight safety concerns which drove the conversion to an all Airbus fleet in 2018.  The A319 is a shortened-fuselage variant of the Airbus A320.  Designed to compete with the Boeing 737-700, 37 are in service in the Allegiant fleet.  First flown in 1995, almost 1,500 have been delivered.  Nikon D500 w/Tamron 150-600mm.
