Fashion Magazine
I guess you could call this my first ever 'beauty' post!Even though I definitely prefer to blog about more fashion-y things, I thought, what's the harm in doing just a little post about some of the products that I am loving at the moment. Anyway,
I have accumulated quite a lot of new products in the past few months that I love and have started to use regularly. I wouldn't say I was a beauty junkie (yet) but I really just wanted to comment on all the items that I have enjoyed using at the moment.
1. Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser
This is what I like to call, my 'fancy' exfoliator. Clarins is probably one of the first proper beauty brands that I heard of simply because my mom is DEDICATED to their products. This particular exfoliator actually has 'orange extracts' in it, making it smell really fresh and gives it more of that quality feel. The exfoliating beads are tiny, but they still do the job very well and I love how it doesn't feel too harsh on your face when you rub it on - like some exfoliators- and this is probably due to the fact that it is actually a cleanser as well. I use this when my skin is actually behaving for once and if I just need a light exfoliating. I find as well that after I use this, my moisturiser seems to set on my face a lot better...if that makes sense.
3. St Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Body Moisturiser
This is one of my go-to products for a night out. Obviously St Tropez is a prestigious tanning brand and I simply just assumed that this product would be top notch...and it is! A big plus is that it doesn't have that typical fake tan smell (you know what I mean) and it's really easy to apply because it's a moisturiser. I have it in the color Medium Dark and you can reapply to get a more prominent result... because you guessed it.... it's a gradual tan!
4. V05 Extreme Style (rework) fiber putty
I love messy, textured and volumized hair, so I bought the mini version of this product just to give it a test run. I find that it really helps to hold any textured curls in very well and the fact that my hair is relatively short makes it work better. It actually says on the pot that it is suited to short hair. You don't need a massive handful either, a simple dip is suffice and then you just ruffle it through your hair. I love it.
5. The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue
Winter does terrible things to your skin, especially your feet. I pop this on the balls of my feet at the end of the day just to rejuvenate them a little. It's quite thick, so you don't need a lot which means it wont run out as quickly... hurrah! Rescue indeed.
6. The Elle Grey nail varnish
This actually came in a Elle magazine one month, meaning it wont be ready available for you to buy, so I guess I am talking more generally about the color Grey as a nail varnish rather than the brand. I am THE worst nail varnish painter in the history of the world, but when I do decide to put some on, I seem to always reach for this one. Grey isn't a color that is usually associated with nail varnish, but I think it looks rather chic and seems to compliment a lot of the colours that I tend to wear.
Now every girls favorite .... Soap & Glory
7. Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter
The holy grail of body butters. Smells absolutely divine and makes your skin turn to silk. Enough said.
8. Soap & Glory The Breakfast Scrub
This too, smells absolutely divine. The name says it all - it contains oats, shea butter, sugar body smoother, bananas, almonds and honey extracts - does that not sounds like the components for the best breakfast ever!? I dare say it may be a tad overpowering if it were a body butter, but as its an exfoliator, you are simply left with a more repressed scent when you wash it off that stays on your skin all day. I like to add a bit of The Righteous Butter over the top just to set it. Simply amazing. My nose is nearly submerged in the pot as I am typing this now.
9. Soap & Glory The UltiMelt Deep Purifying hot cloth cleanser I was instantly intrigued by this product when the Sunday Times Style magazine started raving about it a few weeks ago. I have never used anything with a muslin cloth before, but oh my word it was brilliant! Definitely a product to use on a pamper night, or if your skin is just feeling tired and in need of a pick me up.
Well that was a bit different to normal! By the way, I take my fashion blogger hat off to all of you beauty bloggers, that was one of the hardest posts I have had to write. How I did not end up using the phrases "Fresh smelling" and "soft silky skin" a million times I do not know!
After doing this, I think I will definitely stick to fashion posts; my knowledge on beauty is limited and there are so many bloggers that do it justice more than I do! But I am happy that I gave it a try.
Are any of the products that I have listed your favorite too? Comment below! btw, I am looking into getting a proper blogging camera...please bare with. Till next time!
