I am a huge fan of Downton Abbey. I watched the first two series on Netflix in two days, avoided social media sites like the plague until I was caught up on series three, and I'll probably never forgive Dan Stevens.
When I found this, I was pretty excited. Yes, it's a parody, but I'm a lover of parodies. I grew up watching Mel Brooks movies with my father, it's kind in my blood. Anyway, I loved the character names and how they closely resembled the characters. Quite clever really. It also made it pretty easy to figure out who was who.
There were plot lines the resembled season one and overall I was amused. However, it was above and beyond a normal level of parody and satire. The puppy gets pregnant and Devonton is saved, Lady Ethel (Edith) falls in love with a Llama, and... well, that's about as far as I got.
I thought the concept was very interesting. The British Secret Service uses Devonton to help aid in international affairs and keep the Queen save and place agents into the roll of servants to the family, but it failed to live up to its premise.
The art is wonderfully done and captures the likeness of their Downton counterparts very well. If nothing else, it's pretty.
