As much as I love my high end beauty products, I want something more affordable for everyday/work/popping out - the days when you need to be out the door, almost already late...
From my first thoughts; W7 would be a great brand for trying out makeup in your teens, but it's great for the older audience too. Twenty somethings will rejoice in just how affordable products are, especially if you're trying to work your way up the career ladder and you're on more of a Rimmel budget than Tom Ford where you wish you were. With buttery eyeshadow shades that blend well and a mascara somewhat similar to Benefit's They're Real - but a lot easier to remove - have I got your attention yet?
Glowcomotion* is a golden highlighter, shimmer and eyeshadow all in one. It also makes me sing Kylie's 'Locomotion' every time I read the name on the packaging! As I'm pretty fair skinned I use only the lightest touch to apply highlighter and find a little really does go a long way with Glowcomotion. Whilst it isn't as champagne toned as Mary Lou-Manizer from The Balm, it's just over a fiver and you get a lot of product for your money.
For brows I tend to use a mix of Benefit's latest offerings and Urban Decay. I find 'Primal' from Naked Basics 2 to work really well to lightly fill in my brows and I set them with whichever brow gel I have laying around. Brow Parlour* is a little like Benefit BrowZings, you get the wax, two powders and a highlighter to apply and mini tweezers. Whilst you can't go wrong with mini tweezers, I'd recommend picking up a separate eyebrow brush to use. I find full sized brushes easier to work with but mini ones are great for on the go.
In The Buff* is one of many eyeshadow palettes from the brand which comes in at just under £10. It's a pretty good dupe for Naked 2 and has a range of shimmer and matte shades which are all well pigmented and blend together pretty easily. You do get an eyeshadow brush included in the palette but I prefer to use my Real Techniques/Zoeva brushes. Lemon Meringue Eyelid Primer* is a great addition to anyone's makeup bag, especially if you tend to have any redness around your eyes. It blends in well and acts as a great base to apply eyeshadow. Want to pack more of a punch, layer eyeshadow on with a wet brush to really build up the colour, then layer up Absolute Lashes* mascara on top, pop on a slick of your favorite lipstick/gloss and you're good to go! I'm more of a pink lip girl, but Mega Matte Lips* liquid lipstick in 'Two Bob' has made me reconsider nude shades.
