One of seven production Concordes in service with Air France, this aircraft first flew in June 1978 and holds the world record for flying around the world in both directions (Westbound – 32 hours 49 minutes – October 1992 and Eastbound -31 hours 27 minutes -August 1995). First flown in 1969, the iconic Concorde entered service in 1976 and continued flying until its retirement in 2003. Unlike other museum Concordes, a few of the aircraft systems are being kept functional such as the “droop nose” which can still be lowered and raised. Twenty aircraft were built, including six prototypes and development aircraft. Concorde was the first airliner to have an analog fly-by-wire flight-control system.
