@ San Carlos, CA

September 2020

A view from the front cockpit of the L-39 Albatros jet trainer in the Hiller Aviation Museum.  Basic flight instruments are arrayed in the lighter gray panel with engine gauges in the dark gray panel. First flown in 1968, the Czech-built Albatros is the most widely used jet trainer in the world with 2,800 still in use with various air forces around the world.  A popular jet warbird, more than 250 are registered with the FAA.  This example participated in the 2005 Reno Air Races before becoming part of the Museum collection in 2009.
