The Education Ministry yesterday said that the GCE Advanced Level 2024 Examination will be held as scheduled from November 25 to December 20 and there is no possibility of postponing the examination since all preliminary preparations have been completed.
The Ministry in a release said that the dates for the upcoming 2024 G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) have been fixed and dates for many other exams have been set, according to the dates of this examination.
“If this exam is postponed then the upcoming examinations programme will become completely irregular once again,”the Ministry release said.
“Requests are being made by various parties to postpone this examination and the attention of the Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Ministry has been drawn to these requests.
“The 2024 G.C.E. (Advanced Level) examination was announced by the Sri Lanka Examination Department in a press release dated 01.03.2024 stating that the examination will be held from
25.11.2024 to 20.12.2024 and the examination paper printing, regional collection centers, regional coordination centers and setting up of examination centers including all preliminary
preparations for the examination, have been completed by now. The dates for the upcoming 2024 G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) have been fixed and dates for many other exams have been set, according to the dates of this examination, and if this exam is postponed then the upcoming examinations programme will become completely irregular once again,”the release said.
