Adding Line and Layers to New Abstract Paintings

By Abstractartbylt @artbylt

I continued working on the two new abstract paintings I started recently, putting them both on my easel at the same time to create twin canvases--not quite a diptych--but paintings that can work together.  I began by drawing lines in cadmium red light, permanent green, cobalt blue, and cadmium yellow light.

Next, I mixed some colors with Liquitex Gloss Medium and a touch of water to fill in the shapes I'd drawn.  At this point, some of the colors seem too bright and dominant, but I will be adding more layers tomorrow to deal with this.
