Adding a Touch of Color to Monochrome Painting

By Abstractartbylt @artbylt

While I liked the monochrome painting I've been working on, I felt it needed something more.  Today I drew circles in cadmium yellow light, lime green, aqua, brilliant blue, and cerulean blue, beginning with the light yellow in the top center and working my way out through the darker blues.

As I drew the circles, I filled them in with a watery wash, adding some of the grays I'd used previously on this painting.  I didn't want the contrast between color and gray to be too great.  I had to work while the paint was wet so that I could blend each color while letting the background show through the circles.
