Adaptation

An interesting question I have started asking those who are conservative, but who try to distance themselves from Dubya:

Would we have been better off if Al Gore had been elected?

That produces some interesting answers, sometimes pro-Gore, sometimes not. It is an excellent metric for how far right wing someone is, and how reality based they are, in terms of their values, ideology, and what they accept and reject as fact. It is a litmus test of sorts to how willing the GOP is to self-examine and to adapt.
