In a quite surprising move, actor turned politician Subhadra Mukherjee left BJP in the fallout of the Delhi violence and provocative slogans raised by BJP leaders.
Mukherjee, who joined the BJP in 2013, said it was unrealistic for her to be in a similar gathering with functionaries like Kapil Mishra and Anurag Thakur, both of whom raised “goli maaro” (shoot them) trademarks.
The entertainer, who sent her acquiescence to Bengal BJP boss Dilip Ghosh, said she got the gathering together with “expectations and good faith”, however was frustrated after late improvements.
Mukherjee stated, that while she was supportive of CAA, she didn’t endorse of the manner in which the gathering squeezed ahead with it.
She included that she was unable to relate to a gathering that treated individuals based on religion and not as individual people.
