Actor Profile: Edward Norton

Posted on the 18 August 2016 by Sirmac2 @macthemovieguy

Today is Edward Norton’s birthday, and my first “actor profile” in a while.

BEST PERFORMANCE:
I’d have to pick his performance in American History X, even though I didn’t like the film, his performance in that is impossible to ignore.

MOST ICONIC PERFORMANCE
Probably his performance in Fight Club is the most well known, because of the following behind the film. Most recently, he might be known for Birdman to a new generation.

MOST UNDERRATED PERFORMANCE
There are a ton of films he was really good in that didn’t do too well at the box office, but I’ll pick Death To Smoochy as the leader of that pack. He proved that he can be funny, as well as a little unhinged. I also thought he was great in Rounders and The Score.

BEST PERFORMANCE I’VE HEARD WAS GOOD AND HAVEN’T SEEN
Admittedly, I haven’t seen Primal Fear, his breakthrough performance. I keep meaning to watch it.

WORST PERFORMANCE/FILM
I’m going to go with Keeping The Faith, which is just a blemish on his resume. Though, I think I liked that film maybe a bit more than American History X or the incredibly long and boring Kingdom Of Heaven, but he’s barely in that, and he was terrific in American History X.

Roles/Movies I’ve Seen:
1) Rounders (1998)
2) American History X (1998)
3) Fight Club (1999)
4) Keeping The Faith (2000)
5) The Score (2001)
6) Death To Smoochy (2002)
7) Red Dragon (2002)
8) 25th Hour (2002)
9) The Italian Job (2003)
10) After The Sunset (2004)
11) Kingdom Of Heaven (2005)
12) The Incredible Hulk (2008)
13) The Invention Of Lying (2009)
14) Moonrise Kingdom (2012)
15) The Bourne Legacy (2012)
16) The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
17) Birdman (2014)
18) Sausage Party (2016)
