According to her mother, Esaw Snipes-Garner, Erica was hospitalized last Saturday after an asthma attack caused her to have a massive heart attack.

She was put into a medically-induced coma and was declared brain dead on Wednesday.

Snipes said her daughter had given birth four months ago and during the pregnancy had learned that she had heart problems.

On Saturday morning with her family by her side, Erica passed away.
