It was my first time exploring the attractions near Puerto Prinsesa. The first two times I visited Palawan, I went to Coron and when I did land in the city, I went straight to El Nido. I only spared a few hours and a night in Puerto Prinsesa without doing anything else. But for this trip, I went to visit the famous Underground River. I found this sweet spot a little bit outside the main road. Despite (and because of) it's location, Acacia Tree Garden provided the comforts of home, away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
Getting Away from it All
The Room
The room provided for me was spacious and could fit more than 2 people, if an extra bed was provided. The bed was soft and comfortable and the toilet and bath had high pressure showers (hot & cold water).
I liked the facade of the rooms. It was tastefully designed and had an eco-friendly vibe to it because of the garden just outside. Visitors can relax and unwind just outside the room because of the chairs provided.
Verdict: 5/5
Facilities
Acacia Garden had its own garden and swimming pool for both adults and kids. The garden provided a natural and homey touch to the hotel which was refreshing for me. The pools' water was warm, which make it ideal to swim in even at night. The two pools are perfect for visitors with big families and young children. Aside from the swimming pool, guests can play billiards, foosball, darts, and chess. If you think traveling to the city center is too troublesome, there are other things you can do while at the hotel. The hotel also has its own restaurant.
Verdict: 5/5
Services
The staff at Acacia Garden are attentive to the needs of their visitors. They were always smiling and asking if I needed anything. They also called my room for upcoming trips or when my order was ready.
They also gave a letter and some chocolates the day before my flight back to Manila. They asked about my time of departure and when it would be convenient for me to leave the hotel. The staff are willing to help you get to certain places in the city, just ask. They also offered airport transfer, which is a plus for me. The hotel also provides massage services (by appointment), tours, room safety drawer, free wi-fi, and laundry and pressing services.
Verdict: 4.5/5
Location
The location of Acacia Garden is either a good or bad thing, depending on what you are looking for. If you want to be close to the city center where all the restaurants and shopping areas are, Acacia garden is not the place for you. The hotel is tucked at a quiet area of Puerto Prinsesa. The hotel's location is perfect if you want peace and quiet after a tiring day of visiting attractions such as the Underground River or Honda Bay. It is also a few minutes away from the airport, making it an ideal place to stay if you want to be close to the airport before your departure or arrival.
Verdict: 3/5
Pricing
Rooms at Acacia Garden start at P2600 for 2 to P7500 for a villa for 8, and an extra bed costs P700. The rooms come with complimentary breakfast and 2 bottles of water. The affordable prices are perfect for people who have a little bit more to spend during their vacation in Puerto Prinsesa.
