Hi Pixies. Today's topic is a bit different than usual, as today I want to draw your attention to something that has managed to p- me off big time. I'm talking about Abercrombie & Fitch and how there CEO 'reportedly' hates fat customers. According to him he will only make his clothes available up to a size large, that's a UK size 10 to you and me. As he said to a Journalist here -
"He doesn't want larger people shopping in his store; he wants thin and beautiful people, He doesn't want his core customers to see people who aren't as hot as them wearing his clothing. People who wear his clothing should feel like they're one of the 'cool kids."
Now I don't know about you but I think that's pretty horrible. People come in all shapes and sizes and everyone is beautiful no matter what their clothing size. I'm a UK size 6 but most days I wish I could put a bit of meat on my bones as being this skinny isn't as amazing as everyone makes it, my bones hurt easily and having a fast metabolism makes me hungry 24/7 so I wouldn't mind being a size 8 or even 10.
I'll admit now that I'm a little bit obsessed with Abercrombie, Hollister and it's various labels but come on, that's no way to make a good image for your company and to be honest who gives one man the right to tell women all over the world that they are "ugly or uncool"? Nothing does! So although I properly won't stop buying Hollister clothes completely this have defiantly put a dark cloud over my head for when I next go to visit their shops, oh and before anyone jumps to any conclusions I'm not writing this post to slag off the CEO, just to say that I think his ideas of "beauty" is silly. What's your opinion on the whole story (which you can read in full HERE) and please remember - you are beautiful!
