Abercrombie & Fitch Thinks It’s “Too Cool” for “Large Girls” #FitchTheHomeless

By Real Talk @talkrealdebate2012

#FitchTheHomeless signThis week’s viral video of the week will also serve as my rant of the week.  Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Michael Jeffries has caused a stir with his recent, dim-witted comments.  In response to why he the store doesn’t carry a size larger than 10 for women the CEO said it’s because he doesn’t want “fat women” wearing his clothes.  In addition, he thinks only “cool people” should wear his clothes.  Here is an articulate and quite funny video explaining the situation.

Kirstie Alley and other celebrities have spoken out about the absurdity of his comments.  Aside from how dumb his comments are in general they are actually atrocious in terms of a business model.  Maybe this idiot doesn’t realize that 67% of shoppers are actually overweight.  So Mr. Jeffries you can make all the comments and restrictions you choose, but when your company goes out of business I wonder if you will still think you are “cool.”

Because I surely don’t think you are remotely close.

Luckily I have never bought clothes from this store.  I guess I wasn’t “cool” enough.  I hope you take this guy’s advice and #FitchTheHomeless.

*On a side note this is Real Talk’s 300th post!  Just wanted to thank everyone that has supported this blog from the beginning.  I really I’m amazed by support you’ve given us.  I hope you continue to enjoy Real Talk.  Until our next debate
