Story: The Young Cannibals starts when seven friends Nat (Purvis), Ethan (Sarpong-Broni), Frances (Spearman), Teddy (Freeman), Pippa (Howell), Campbell (Thomas) and Mike (Haynes) look to have a country break in the UK countryside.

When the friends take some burgers from Blackwood (Stucky) they find themselves caught in his trap, as they learn they have eaten human flesh, which will summon a monster to track down cannibals.

Thoughts on The Young Cannibals

ThoughtsThe Young Cannibals is a horror thriller that will use the remote location to show the friends lost in the woods being tracked down by an unknown monster looking to make cannibals its latest victims. This will bring a fresh attempt at the idea of the monster being only visible to cannibals, but this idea runs dry quickly as the creature always lurking, like having this twist on the monster should make it more open to attacks, less guarded, knowing it can get away with more. The effects are trying for a lot of shock value, only they tend to fall short, as they always seem the same on each victim, while the monster itself is something you would never want to walk into, bringing the fear towards the audience. The Young Cannibals does try to bring a series discussion to the table around the Nat character, but it ends up feeling like a cheap shot between false friends, rather than giving enough support to the woman in need. The performances are not the strongest, with a lot of the film being more about running around, in the shadows, only giving Megan Purvis anything dramatic to do in the film.

Final Thoughts The Young Cannibals is a gore filled creature feature.
