“Just because I killed my family doesn’t mean I didn’t love them.” – The Professor

Number of Times Seen – 1 (15 Oct 2021)

Brief Synopsis – A group of survivors during a Zombie Apocalypse try to find the person who infected everyone.

My Take on it – Anyone who knows me, knows that I am NOT a fan of horror movies at all.

It is one of the few genres that I try to avoid as much as possible.

October is always a month when a lot of movie bloggers dedicate their reviews and watches to taking in horror films due to Halloween being just around the corner.

This makes things more difficult for me given the fact that it makes it harder to contribute to other people’s endeavors.

But… as a steady contributor to the ABC Challenge, I decided to go against my instinct and find a film to watch.

This is actually a movie that Darren suggested to me a few years back, yet, based on what I wrote earlier, I avoided.

The truth is that the one kind of horror film that I can tolerate the most are Zombie films and this one does fit into that niche.

That being said, this was a story that has a good idea, but it just isn’t presented well enough.

The fact that they deal with so many normal zombie film tropes and fail to try and give themselves a unique voice really hurts things here.

The cast is unexceptional and none of them stand out at all.

The story moves along at a strange pace and never really finds its way because it all comes across in a very messy style.

The one thing in this film that I really liked was that they find a way to communicate with the “infected” and if that would have been developed more, they might have had a better chance with this story.

What’s quite fascinating is the fact that this film gives a whole new perspective of the genre in a (post) COVID word because most viewers will be able to identify more with many of the things these characters have to deal with.

Regardless, this was pretty much a waste of time tho…

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The screenplay for this film was featured in the 2013 Blacklist; a list of the “most liked” unmade scripts of the year. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy (3/10)
