This month we are going to be taking on the films I enjoy, my favourites of all time. I have a strange taste in movies, so be ready to expect some true greats and some you could never see on anyone’s favourites list. I will only be picking movies on this list and it will just be my discussing my picks rather than giving full reviews.
Jurassic Park
Why I’ve Picked this choice – The year was 1993, I was 6 years-old and I went to the cinema to see my favorite thing, dinosaurs, following on from The Land Before Time I was obsessed with dinosaurs and seeing this movie on the big screen, will remain one of the greatest cinematic experiences of my life. The reaction Dr Grant gives when we first see the dinosaurs was the same as the audience, that moment is still jaw-dropping.
That moment captured the ‘nice’ or ‘peaceful’ dinosaurs, but imagine the terror felt when the T-Rex first appeared, that was what cinema was all about. We saw many great moments in this film that we truly couldn’t ever forget in what I do believe to be Spielberg’s most entertaining and ground-breaking movie.
