This month we are going to be taking on the films I enjoy, my favourites of all time. I have a strange taste in movies, so be ready to expect some true greats and some you could never see on anyone’s favourites list. I will only be picking movies on this list and it will just be my discussing my picks rather than giving full reviews.
Brick
Why I’ve Picked this choice – This film was the first film I ever reviewed on this site, it is one if not my all time favorite film, I love the detective feel that Brendan goes on to figure out what happened to his girlfriend in the middle of this high school drug ring. This isn’t a happy crime thriller ever scene is filled with bleakness.
We have a brilliant cast here with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lukas Haas, Nora Zehetner, Noah Segan, Noah Fleiss, Matt O’Leary, Emilie de Ravin, Meagan Good and Brian White, all young and wonderfully talented. Least we forget the man behind the camera Rian Johnson who gave us Star Wars the Last Jedi in 2017, this is where he started.
We have hand nicknames which create their own slang to make us feel like we are in the middle of high school too, with my favorite scene from the film being the argument Brendan remembers with his girlfriend Emily, the emotional punch in it shows how he feels about her.
