ABC has decided to cancel the comedy, and replace it for now with reruns of Modern Family.
The Mayor starred Brandon Micheal Hall as an aspiring rapper in need of a big break. Tired of waiting for an opportunity, he cooks up the publicity stunt of the century. He decided to run for mayor of his hometown to generate buzz for his music career.
In a twist of events, his plan goes wrong and he ends up winning the election.
The Mayor also starred Yvette Nicole Brown, and Lea Michele.
The ABC comedy premiered in October of last year, and ran 9 episodes.
