Plot: When Stacy’s mom dies, Stacey puts her life and career on hold and returns to her childhood home to take care of her OCD agoraphobic brother Ben who hasn’t been out of the house for 23 years only to find out the house they grew up in harbours a disturbing secret.

Verdict: Haunted House 101
Story: Abbey Grace starts as we see Stacey (Sheridan) having to take care of her OCD agoraphobic brother Ben (Hobbs) after their mother has died. Ben hasn’t left the house for 23 years and is struggling to adjust to the small changes Stacey has bought into the house. We see how Ben can’t handle have Duke Stacey’s dog in the house which reaches the limits when he kicks Duke out.
The supernatural element of this story comes out now when a strange box is discovered on the farm house which leads to Duke becoming ravenous towards Ben and Stacey. Learning of the bigger supernatural presence within the house Stacey brings her colleague Bridget (Gallaway) to try and help Ben’s condition.
Abbey Grace gives us a horror that works on the house possession story with the twit being that one of our characters has a fear of leaving the house, making it almost impossible for him to escape the force. We don’t get many jump scares and in the end, most of the horror is all based on creating the fear of possession which if it works for you can get a good horror level.
As for the acting we do find ourselves having to deal with some weak acting in this one, Debbie Sheridan and Jacob Hobbs do decent jobs in the leading roles and I would have like to have seen a lot more from the Semi Antony character. As for Amber Gallaway she doesn’t leave too much to the imagination with her overacting throughout the film. This is solid but nothing special for the haunted house horror film.
Overall: Haunted house horror that doesn’t reach the full levels of scares.
