Aave Will Introduce Twitter for Web3 on Polygon.
Using the Polygon blockchain, the web3 company Aave built a Twitter-like social networking site. Lens Protocol is a new project that utilizes NFTs to provide a distinctive web3 social experience. Users are able to monetize their material and mint their own profiles as NFTs, among other features.
What sets Lens Protocol different from Twitter?
Using NFTs, Aave’s new social media project will allow users with total control over their social profiles and content. The company’s CEO, Stani Kulechov, believes that people need a new electronic socialization strategy. In truth, we have all been using such social networking services for some years.
However, web3 has been evolving at a dizzying pace lately. Aave aims to provide more social experiences than Twitter by using cutting-edge technology, such as NFTs:
“As seen from Elon Musk’s bid to purchase Twitter, people are ready for a better experience than what they’re used to. Ownership over not only the content you create online, but also your profile and social network is long overdue, and empowering users is what Lens aims to achieve”, the CEO said.
Lens Protocol currently has diverse social applications. The Polygon blockchain is used by Swapify, Peerstream, and Lenster, among others.
The social media network of Aave will replace Twitter
Today at 2:00 PM EDT, Lens Protocol will have a launch party on Twitter Spaces. Therefore, it is too early to determine if Aave’s NFT-powered social network will outperform Twitter.
Obviously, Lens Protocol has web3 competitors as well. Gamma, an NFT marketplace, will launch a web3 social network in the near future.
In the meanwhile, the web3 social networking site Playground has recently garnered users’ interest. Nevertheless, each platform allows us to experiment with novel networking techniques in a web3 context.
