A Year of Tears: Learning to Trust and Accept Love Again by Nikki Knight is a short story told as if reading from a journal, detailing an entire year of in a life. Initially, there is great heartache and we read as the writer slowly comes to terms with things and gradually open themselves back up and allows themselves to have fun, laugh, trust and love again.
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why we call it a present."
For such a short story there is a powerful message here. We lose love in one form or another and it's alright to grieve the loss. It's normal to feel pain, but we must be willing to move forward from to the promise of bright day and a better future.
I will give this one an A.
Thanks to Nikki Knight for lending me this book from Amazon kindle.
