Just a little something to cheer you up on this gloomy January day. This Lake District wedding was possibly my favorite of the year, so intimate and romantic it’s hard not to fall in love with everything about this wedding! The setting for this winter wedding was Broadoaks Country House Hotel near Lake Windermere, Cumbria.

Mikki and Mark are very good friends of my photographer friends Evie and Jamie (Chapter Photography) and so I was over the moon when they decided they’d like to have me film their day too and work with such an amazing list of suppliers (these can be found at the bottom if you’re after some inspiration).

Mikki and her bridal party started the day beside Lake Windermere at the MacDonald Old English Hotel where Flossy & Leigh were on hand to make the girls look gorgeous by perfecting their hair and make-up. Evie was obviously there ready to photograph the gorgeous bride while Jamie headed off with my assistant to film the boys getting ready over at Broadoaks. The morning flew by and soon Dad was popping in to see how beautiful his daughter looked in her dress before we all made the short journey to the wedding venue.

Mark waited nervously with his guests for his bride and the rain managed to hold off just enough for her to arrive and make her way inside to meet her handsome groom. The ceremony room looked so beautiful and was the perfect setting for this intimate wedding ceremony. Mikki glowed as she walked down the aisle and they spent the rest of the time grinning at each other and fighting back the happy tears.

Everyone made a quick dash outside for a group photograph as the rain began to fall before heading inside to see how amazing the reception room looked. Mikki and Mark even braved the rain so we could get some gorgeous moments of just the two of them in the grounds at Broadoaks. Red Floral Architecture did an amazing job at creating such an magical feeling for everyone who walked in to that room (even the staff were taking lots of pictures, it looked that beautiful) with their table display. Caroline’s Cake’s cupcakes stood proudly by the window as the guests made their way to their seats. Dad started off the wedding breakfast with a quick speech before Mark and his Best Man stood up to take center stage after the meal.

Then it was time to have the room turned around and see the newly weds cut their gorgeous cake and take to the dancefloor as husband and wife!

Wasn’t that just gorgeous? If you’re planning your wedding and feel a little inspired then just take a look at the supplier list as they’re all amazingly talented! If you’re yet to book your videographer and have loved watching Mikki and Mark’s wedding why not get in touch? I’d love to hear more about your day!
