Finding a versatile outfit that can merge you from a great daytime look, to an evening getup can be difficult area to master. If you go too far one way you'll look overdone and too far the other and you'll look under dressed. Luckily when we reach the Autumn/Winter season you've actually got a lot you can work with to create perfect in between looks. I decided to take on the challenge by creating a look purely based around classic denim jeans...
I was asked by George at Asda to take a pair of their jeans and see if I could work them into my looks over a weekend. Firstly I love jeans this time of year, that or a pair of knitted tights seem to be my best friends and that's mainly down to warmth and ease of styling. Secondly even though I'm not a big fan of heels and jeans, purely because I have this weird cringe flashback to the early 00's when people thought kitten heels and bootcut jeans were a thing, (insert monkey covering eyes emoji) heels and jeans done correctly can give you a pretty decent look. That being said a pair of chunky boots are amazing to keep a look casual but also to dress up... without the issues of getting cold or wet feet!

I didn't end up going on a night out in this outfit because where I'm from they have an annual town fair with massive rides, and the thought of trying to negotiate my way through it to various bars would be a nightmare. I was clearly staying in this weekend! However we did venture out in the day with our dog Olly, so on the agenda were lots of long walks, visiting villages and cheeky dog friendly pub stops. Olly is a bit of a handful and when he gets himself in a pickle or is left on his own too long her barks! My husband and I took the plunge and took him into a a local dog friendly pub for the first time. He was as good as gold. Winning - the dog loves the pub!
This would be a look that would work for going shopping, walking the dog, meeting the girls for a drink and heading to the pub (with or without the dog). I think the coat actually brings it up to a potential evening look and as for the denim, the vintage acid wash could easily be styled with anything... for £20 you can't grumble. Fringing on the brown suede boots are a staple item for the AW15 wardrobe, and teamed alongside the autumnal floral shirt I believe you have a very versatile outfit.
What do you think? What do you wear as your in between AW15 outfit?
