A Weekend in Pennsylvania

A weekend in Pennsylvania

Last Wednesday, I flew home to spend the weekend with my fiancee, family, and a few friends. Each day I tried spending at least an hour trying birding around home. With that in mind, I only picked up seven year birds in four days. I guess that’s not too shabby for not actively birding. I did pick up Indiana County’s first Prairie Warbler, Red-eyed Vireo, and Chimney Swift for the year. For Jefferson County, I nabbed the County’s first Black-throated Green Warbler for the year while taking the dog for his daily stroll. I will not be back in Pennsylvania until the middle or end of September. There will be plenty of birds to add to my year list then!

Note: The county first of year data was taken from eBird.
