It’s always better doing the most exhausting activity first up! Moreton Bay is the perfect Saturday experience, being a short boat ride from the busy Brisbane center as well as being a natural heaven. Renowned forits biodiversity and ecological significance, with a total of 360 different islands spread out along the region. Moreton Island was my pick of islands to head to, joining the Brisbane Tour’s ‘Moreton Island Cruise with Dolphin Viewing’ Tour. Here I was able to enjoy a day out in a picture-perfect paradise. With the island’s facilities included in the tour, I spent the morning relaxing by the swimming pools, grabbing an afternoon drink at the bar, and snorkelling the shipwrecks along the shallow seashore. Ending the day by meeting the local dolphins and feeding them their dinner for the night.

Enjoy a drink or two: South Bank

Exhausted from your day of sightseeing? There is no better way to wind down than enjoying a delicious dinner and drinks at the city’s chic South Bank. Nestled alongside the Brisbane River the area is jam-packed with award-winning restaurants, bars, shops, and events every weekend. Stuff your face with some mouth-watering grub and enjoy a unique Brisbane cocktail while you are at it. Once your belly is filled to the brim, get some fresh air and walk along the river for a romantic end to the night.

Regardless of if you visit in the day or night, the Brisbane Wheel offers some epic sights. Taking you up 60-metre heights to see 360-degree views of the city and its surrounds. The wheel is quiet with large indoor gondolas, each one able to hold up to eight people at once. They also provide food and refreshments on board, so you can dine in a style above the clouds!

This can be great for both the history buffs and nature lovers! Kangaroo Point is one of Brisbane’s oldest suburbs, so it is packed with an amazing history. It is also naturally stunning, situated along the river, featuring clifftops, lush greenery, and an exceptional view of the city. Head here with a packed picnic and settle along the soft grass for a relaxing end to the weekend!
