A Week In The Life Of Monica

So I have been trying to do this blog everyday in November for NoaNoWriMo and I have been sitting here staring at this blank screen all day. I tend to not write on Saturdays at all so this has turned into a huge challenge for me. This is my day to kind of think about the week ahead.

And as I was thinking about my week ahead (which is shaping up to be a very colorful one on the calendar) I thought well maybe you all would like to see what a week in my life as the mother of four kids ranging in age from toddler to teen looks like.

It changes from week to week for the most part with of course the daily school schedule thrown in there. Add to that a sporadic work schedule for my husband and it all adds up to me doing a whole lot of back and forth driving. But here are some pictures and videos of my week last week along with some words (because I don’t photo document EVERYTHING) about my week starting with my birthday last Saturday.

Saturday November 2

My day started out like this…

With hair.

It ended like this…

129

Without hair.

And in between that this is what happened…

Faces blurred to protect the innocent AKA kids whose parents are not aware I’m a blogger and did not give me permission to post their children on my blog.

Chuck E. Cheese where every parent wants to spend her birthday, am I right?  Seriously though, this was a very fun day for me and I couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend my birthday than celebrating my son and seeing that smile on his face made it all worth while.

Sunday November 3

So the day after my birthday was spent recouping from the festivities of the previous days.  I also had to work so we just hung out at home.  But that evening my husband went out for dinner without the kids.  Our oldest stayed home and made dinner for her little siblings (reheated dinner) and even gave the two little ones a bath.  And when we got home we found this cute little wing nut…

Oh, they’re so silly.

Monday November 4

Back to school for the kids which meant back to being up early.  My husband’s last day of vacation too though.  We went to the grocery store and that was about it aside from running around and doing the drop off/pick up routine.  Nothing exciting here.

Tuesday November 5

Election day!  2 out of 3 kids had no school.  My husband was back to work.  I decided to keep the 3rd kid home from school too.  That way my husband could just get up and take the car to work.  Plus she had a dentist appointment that evening so it reduced my running around.  So we hung out at home until a dentist appointment and then home for dinner and that was pretty much it.

Wednesday November 6

Everyone was back to school again and hubby to work.  So back to my usual daily running around.  My 2 year old had speech therapy in the morning.  She was in quite the giddy mood for that.  Once that was over my son was due home from school soon so it was lunch and nap time and then before I knew it time to get my middle daughter from her bus and my husband from work.  And home to cook dinner.

Thursday November 7

Same old same old with the school/work routine.  Our landlord stopped by with a repair man for the porches.  I had to stop what I was doing a few times to give the repair man access to something.  Then of course there was the afternoon pick up of everyone and dinner and bed time routine.  We watched Grown Ups 2 which I must say if you’re looking for a funny movie you have to see this one.  It was hysterical.  Tears running down your face funny.

Friday November 8

Finally, Friday!  Got everyone off to work/school and then was catching up on some things at home.  I got a cute video of some time spent just me and my 2 year old though…

Exciting stuff, isn’t it? The rest of the day was the usual pick up of everyone, cook dinner, and work. And it’s the weekend and all of the fun gets to start all over again. Maybe I’ll do this next week too. If I can come up with nothing else to blog about that is.

What does your week look like?
