Last week I shared what my week had been like as the mom of four kids ranging in age from toddler to teen.  It wasn’t too bad of a week.  Things were slightly more hectic this week.  So I figured I’d share how things can change from week to week.  I don’t have a whole lot of pictures from this week as what we were doing wasn’t much for picture opportunities.  But here’s the week in the life of this work at home mom of four.

Saturday November 9

My parents came over early to pick up the three oldest kids to spend the day with them.  Breakfast, Lowes Craft Day, shopping, and just tons of fun grandparent time.  Left me with my 2 year old for the whole day.  Hubby was at work so it was just the two of us for the day.  We hung out at the house all day long.  When my husband got home we cooked dinner together and then I had to start working.  My parents brought the big kids home around 8 and we saw all the things they got.  After they left it was off to bed for the little ones and some TV time with the big ones.

Sunday November 10

Started out the day working while also trying to keep the kids out of my hair.  Tried to get them to clean their room, but that didn’t go too well.  Felt very frustrated while trying to work and decided that I need to pay my two big kids to take care of the little ones for me on the weekend so I can focus on the work I have to do while my husband is also working.  Hoping the paid incentive will be enough to help give me a little peace to get through my work.  My husband came home and we had a nice ham dinner and spent a nice family evening together.

Monday November 11

Veteran’s Day.  All of the kids were home from school.  I cleaned up a little around the house before my youngest daughter’s speech therapist came over.   Spent an hour doing her speech therapy.  Then the rest of the day was just spent enjoying another quiet day at home with no where to be and nothing else to do.  Before we knew it we had dinner and baths and bedtime.  Then I sat down to start working before heading to bed.

Tuesday November 12

Back to school routine.  Which meant back to running everyone around.  Once everyone was off to school we had the cable guy here trying to fix our internet.  My husband was off so he had to stay while he finished up his work so I could bring our youngest to the doctor for a check up.  All went well with her check up.  She’s sticking to her growth curve of small and all in all is very healthy and developing normally.  I had to rush home so my husband could take our 6 year old to the movies.  They were having a little father son time seeing Thor.  I gave our 2 year old lunch and put her down for her nap and then started doing some writing.  Before I knew it everyone was starting to arrive back home and the baby got up from her nap.  We had dinner and I went to a PTO meeting at the elementary school and then came home to do some work.  And then it was time for bed.

Wednesday November 13

The day started out much like it always does.  My middle daughter got out early though because of Parent/Teacher conferences.  So I went to pick her up shortly before 1.  We went out to lunch then to pick up my oldest from school.  Dropped her off with her little brother and sister and made the half hour plus drive to my middle daughter’s school for her conference.  All good reports from her teachers.  Nothing to worry about and she is a great role model to the rest of the class.  Always good to hear.  Then we came home.  Thankfully my husband was able to get a ride home from someone.  Then it was our evening homework/dinner/bedtime routine.

Thursday November 14

Another day that began like usual, but my middle daughter had a half day again. So I picked her up from her bus stop and we brought our lunch to my husband’s work to feed him and spend some time with him.  After his lunch break was over we left and stopped by the high school to pick up my oldest daughter.  We came home for a few before I had to go back out to get my husband from work. I had an appointment at Sundae Spa with the two big kids.  So I had to run hubby home to stay with the two little ones and pick up the two big ones.  Then we were late for Sundae Spa because of traffic, but that was okay. We had the whole place to ourselves.  The girls got to make their own lip gloss, had a manicure, and got to choose a hair feather or extension for their hair.  And finally an ice cream sundae with their choice of two toppings.  It was a lot of fun and I will have a review for that whole experience next week, so be sure to check back, but maybe these faces will tell you how much they enjoyed it.

And because when we left it was late and I was going to have to work and the girls had already had dessert we ended our evening out by stopping at Moe’s Southwest Grill and getting some chips and queso.  My 14 year old declared it as the best day ever!  It doesn’t take too much to please her I guess.  A little time away from the rug rats doing girly things and chips and queso and she’s good to go.

Friday November 15

After this week I was so happy to see Friday.  This was a relatively low key day.  Aside from getting everyone off to school.  I spent my morning putting out fires for work related stuff though.  After everyone was home from school and work and before dinner I went upstairs to have a little chat with my neighbor, offering her some work.  Then we had dinner and the kids did chores and we settled in for the evening catching up on our DVR.

So that was my week.  Next week is looking a little less running around for me.  Just the usual bringing the kids to school and picking them up.  I have a lot of work I need to get completed though with a lot of different deadlines.

What did your week look like?
