"Do you want a trip out to Norwell Nurseries?" was the irresistible question, to which of course the answer was yes. It feels like quite a while since I have been on a good nursery mooch, and Norwell Nurseries is a good nursery.
Norwell is about an hour away from home and quite a pleasant drive. It was before the recent frost and snow when I visited and a lovely time of year to visit as if you are tempted to buy plants (seriously, how could you not be?) the soil was still warm so you can plant them up and they will delight you this year and then delight you again next year and beyond. It is quite a magic window waiting for that first deep frost to arrive.
The nursery has a really good garden, perfect to wander around and think about what you might wish to buy. There were plenty of 'ooh' and 'what's that?' moments and as the garden is well-labelled it meant I soon decided what I wanted to buy.
There was lots of good late colour,
and a nice pond to sit close to and just let the world be whilst you chat for a while.
It was a lovely visit, the world was set to rights and a good catch up was had.
Yes indeedy I did, I bought this lovely Salvia uliginosa (or uglinosa as I like to call it). It is a good blue and this has become the first new plant to be planted into the revamped front garden. A good new addition I think.
Take care and be kind.
