Last week I took a trip abroad with my friends for the first time, where we jetted off to the city of Paris. After reading Adrienne’s personal guide to Paris it made me want to visit the French city even more so, so we decided to book up for 4 nights. Being the adults that we are, we of course took a trip to Disneyland Paris too so I decided to write about this as our Fashion Visuals Paris post covered pretty much all of what you should do in the city.
I am a bit of a fan of Disney and have luckily visited the Paris Park four times now and Disney World in Florida twice, and if you haven’t been to any please visit one! The amount of effort and detail that goes into every area of the parks is incredible, if they can find a place to stick a Mickey Mouse head they will try and no doubt succeed.
Disneyland Paris is obviously a lot smaller than the park in Florida, which worked out well as we were able to fit both the Walt Disney Studios and Disneyland Park in on one day. We went to the Studios first where you are greeted by a gorgeous statue of the man himself, Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse too. Once in the park you can enjoy fun cinema shows and thrilling rides such as the Tower of Terror and the Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster. The back lot tour is a must see with lots of special effects and movie magic that sums up this area of the park.
The Disneyland Park is much larger than the studios and is split out into the different areas; Main Street USA, Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Discoveryland. Each have a different theme and the rides, shops, restaurants and shows all fit in with these. Fantasyland is my personal favorite as it is the prettiest bit of the park and also home to Peter Pan’s Flight ride.
In the center of the park stands the stunning castle which is the main event at the end of the night. The park shuts at 11pm, so we made sure a couple of hours before this time that we got a good spot in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle to watch the Disney Dreams show. The show is unique to the park to celebrate its birthday. The images that were projected onto the castle were spectacular, along with music, fireworks, lasers, fire, fountains and more that brought everything together. The story of the show followed Peter Pan trying to get his shadow which went across other popular films including the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Tangled and more. The show lasts 20 minutes but feels so much longer and is unforgettable.
After spending 12 hours in the park our feet were hurting so badly but it was all worth it to visit the rides, shops and to watch the amazing Disney Dreams show which finished off the end of our holiday perfectly. If you can visit the park before the birthday celebrations end in September do so, you will not regret it!
