A Trio of Perrin Brewing IPAs Reviewed

By Boozedancing @boozedancing

A short while ago, the fine folks at Perrin Brewing Company of Comstock Park, Michigan reached out and asked if we'd like to try three of their latest IPA releases. We may not be the sharpest knives in the kitchen, but we know a good opportunity when we hear one, especially when it involves sampling beer from a brewery that has yet to disappoint us.

The three beers in question are called Grapefruit IPA, 59-10 IPA, and Double Pay IIPA. Here's what Perrin Brewing has to say about them:

GRAPEFRUIT IPA
Our thirst-quenching Grapefruit IPA has become Michigan's warm weather requisite for a balanced and refreshing craft beer. With aromas of citrus & tropical fruits, a delicate grapefruit tartness and a sweet malty backbone ending in a clean finish; this IPA is the first of its kind. Cheers to short sleeves and long days.

A Traditional IPA with a modern twist. A blend of old-school and new-age hops, perfectly blended with a sweet, malty backbone. These numbers stand for the home address of the brewery, the home of liquid craftsmanship.

DOUBLE PAY IIPA
ABV 8.5% | 70 IBU
Double down on hop flavor with double the hops and double the specialty malts - make you feel like you're earning double pay!

You see how the ABV and IBUs rise as you read your way down the above descriptions? When deciding upon the order that we would taste these beers, we decided to start slow and work our way up to the strongest and potentially most bitter IPA.
