A Touch Of Whimsy On Porto’s Rua Miguel Bombarda With Jessica Mezey

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy

Jessica Mezey on Rua Miguel Bombarda, Porto

Porto street art is so colourful and lively that Jessica and I had to feature it in a series. Naturally, this series had to include Rua Miguel Bombarda in the neighbourhood of Cedofeita. In fact, Cedofeita has such a rich concentration of street art that we shot most of the series right there, starting with Hazul’s Portuguese heart.

If you’re also a fan of street art, you will love wandering the streets of Porto to make your own discoveries. I’m not sure there are any copies left now, but you might still be able to get your hands on a map of Hazul’s street art in Porto, and I imagine that before long the works of other prolific local street artists such as Costah and cheikrew will get catalogued, too. Until then, just bring a camera (or your phone cam) and see what you can find.
