A Star in Oriental Retires !

A star in Oriental Insurance retires !

Tall in stature, smiling demeanour, cheerful attitude, confidence personified, confidentiality keeper, wise – most admiringly pleasant and friendly always.

A peaceful happy retirement is most desired and He fittingly has one. In every Organisation, people come & go – there are always some who make a special impact.  Ranga has impacted so many ‘Oriental colleagues’ and many outside too.

A star in Oriental retires !

Those who have had  interaction with affable S. Rangarajan  will cherish ever – he was always a simple person with exceptional wisdom - at whom we admired and wondered.  Proud to know him much before his joining Oriental in 1983 (our TP Koil Street Triplicane acquaintance – and knew him as he worked for Kothari)

In general, those in Personnel (HR) become good in rules – Ranga was good in humanity.  Those who occupy the seats of PA (to AGM /Managers) would get to know everything that happens in Office – Ranga would knew and for sure would not reveal anything outside, yet would help people in every need.  .. .. and from such a background he gained fabulous knowledge and was so good when he moved to Technical Departments too, is his forte.  An asset to the Organisation – he rose to become one most sought after by colleagues, officials, in-charges, those outside the Region and ofcourse Agents, Corporates  and insuring public.  Many retired / resigned employees would vouch and feel happy that their passage was made smooth by the help that Ranga gave.

Outside, he was a brilliant sportsperson – be it Cricket, Table tennis, Chess, Carrom and .. …. … ‘rummy’ – he revelled to be a Master]

His greatness remained in being simple, not ridiculing anyone, helping everyone and being friendly with one and all.

I have enjoyed and savoured every moment of being with him and today feel happy in his peaceful retirement, being celebrated and given a grand farewell. Ranga, you deserve a great place, must have reached a much exalted position in career  - and you are very strongly and emotionally etched in our hearts.

All the best and praying our Emperuman Sri Parthasarathi for continued happiness and good health to you and your family.

Your admiring fan and pal. – S. Sampathkumar
