Maruti Suzuki launched its first electric car in India. The e Vitara was unveiled at the India Mobility Global Expo. Maruti Suzuki has developed this car in joint venture with Toyota. It will be available in two battery options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery pack.
Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 started today. And there Maruti unveiled the electric Vitara. It is the Indo-Japanese company's first electric car in India. Ending the wait, the company unveiled the Vitara Electric. This car will challenge multiple models. These include Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE6 etc.

Maruti Suzuki has presented this car in joint venture with Toyota. It will be available in two battery options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery pack. These cars are capable of producing 143 and 173 horsepower and 192.5 Nm of torque respectively. The high battery pack of the car will give a range of 500 km on a full charge. The range of the other battery packs is not yet known.

Maruti Suzuki has announced a new 'E for Me' programme. Under which it will set up fast chargers at dealerships in top 100 cities, a dedicated charging app and over 1,500 EV-specific service centers in over 1,000 cities.

The dashboard layout of the E Vitara is different from other Maruti cars sold in India. There is a 10.25-inch screen for the infotainment and instrumentation console and a 10.1-inch instrument cluster, two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, AC vents, automatic climate control, auto-hold with electronic parking brake, three drive modes (Eco , Normal and Sport), Wireless Phone Charger, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Ventilated Front Seats, 10-way power adjustable driver's seat, reclining and split (60:40) rear seat, 7 airbags and level-two ADAS.
Maruti e Vitara car price
The price of Maruti E Vita will be announced in March. The car will be manufactured at Suzuki's Gujarat plant, with 50 percent of the production slated for export to Japan and Europe. It competes with the Mahindra BE6 (Tk 18.90 lakh-Tk 26.90 lakh), Tata Curve EV (Tk 17.49 lakh-Tk 21.99 lakh) and MG ZS EV (Tk 18.98 lakh-Tk 25.75 lakh). Compete in the market.
