A Short Hike Golden Feathers – Rewards
There are 20 golden feathers to find, and they are not only a collectible, because you will unlock some rewards:
1st Golden Feather: Unlocks the stamina gauge (for climbing or flapping Claire’s wings)
Collect 10 Golden Feathers to unlock the Feather Finder achievement
Collect 20 Golden Feathers to unlock the Feathers Forever Achievement
We are going to provide you every location, but if you still can’t find any of the feathers, there is a video guide at the end of this article
A Short Hike Golden Feathers – Locations
1st to 10th Golden Feather
1st & 2nd Golden feathers – Visitor’s Center – Buy them to Ranger Jon (Goat) for 40 coins each
3rd Golden feather – Visitor’s Center – Find it on a mound, northwest from Visitor’s Center
4th Golden feather – Ranger’s Cabin – Give 15 shells to Jen (beach southwest of Ranger’s Cabin), then give the necklace to Aunt May (near Ranger’s Cabin)
5th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – Near the crest of a waterfall southwest of the Lighthousee (Blackwood Trail region of Hawk Peak Island)
6th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – at the top of a stone tower in the Royal Ridge region of western Hawk Peak Island, inside a chest
7th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – at Outlook Point in western Hawk Peak Island, inside a chest
8th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – On an ledge along the cliffside just southwest of Outlook Point in western Hawk Peak Island (climb to get it)
9th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – Earn >= 10 points in the Beachstickball (beach along the far northwestern shoreline)
10th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – Give the Toy Shovel to Jim (Frog) at Sid Beach (southern shoreline). Talk to him until he completes the sand castle
11th to 20th Golden Feather
11th Golden feather – Ranger’s Cabin – atop the Lighthouse just west of the Ranger’s Cabin (before you can climb there, collect at least 6 golden feathers)
12th Golden feather – North of the Lighthouse & south of the Meteor Lake Overlook, use the shovel where the shadow of the top of the Lighthouse meets the ground.
13th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – where Hawk Peak Trail meets the base of Hawk Peak in western Hawk Peak Island
14th, 15th, 16th & 17th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – Buy them to the bird at the base of Hawk Peak for 100 coins each
18th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – Along the southeastern cliff face of Hawk Peak mountain (northwest of Meteor Lake), but get the previous feathers to be able to climb
19th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – Talk to the artist in 6 locations:
- Shirley’s Point in southwestern Hawk Peak Island
- Southwest of the Lighthouse
- Above the waterfall to the north of the upper reaches of Good Creek Path, in western Hawk Peak Island
- Near the Graveyard in northern Hawk Peak Island
- Outlook Point in southwestern Hawk Peak Island
- Visitor Center in southern Hawk Peak Island
(They have to return to Visitor’s center to receive the feather)
20th Golden feather – Hawk Peak Island – along the northern cliff face of Hawk Peak Island, on a small alcove, inside a chest. But it’s easier if you glide down from the frozen heights
A Short Hike Golden Feathers – August 2020 Update
- Rent the Motorboat (Orange Islands)
- Talk to the Manager’s daughter (beach) and also go with her on the motorboat
- Have some fun and talk to her again to unlock the challenge
- But you will abandon the challenge, then return to the Duck captain (northeastern Hawk Peak) and fix the motorboat
- Talk to the rental manager’s daughter, retake the challenge and complete it
