We look forward to welcoming thousands of our colleagues to our hometown of Chicago, Illinois for Staffing World 2017 this October! While in town we want to make sure you feel right at home!

Our beautiful and vibrant city is the source of some of the nation's tastiest food and most iconic attractions. Here in Chicago our culture is as profound as our pizza.

We've put together a list of some of the best hidden hotspots you won't want to miss during your stay in Windy City. We are analyzing it for restaurants, bars, things to do and some of our favorite neighborhoods!

IT EATS:

You can't come to Chicago and NOT get a Chicago-style hot dog, and Gene & Jude is arguably the best place to find one. It is located just outside the city, near O'Hare airport. People from all over the world take the trip just to get their hands on a Gene & Jude dog and hand-cut fries. Just be warned, whatever you do- DO NOT ask for ketchup on your hot dog !!!

Al's Beef:

They serve excellent Italian beef from the 1930s. It's the best place to get your hands on juicy thin slices of beef, spicy and spicy peppers topped on an Italian-style roll. They have many locations across the city, including one less than two miles from the convention center!

This pizza has it all - ooey-gooey cheese, excellent sauce ea buttery crunchy Crust! There are dozens of places across the Chicagoland area ... so a perfect cake is never too far away!

Chicago Brauhaus:

Kuma's Corner:

If you like hamburgers and music, this is the place for you! Kuma's is known for its creative burgers that are named after heavy metal bands. From the Slayer to the Black Sabbath, you won't want to put these giant burgers down. They also have a huge selection of beer and whiskey and some really delicious macaroni and cheeses.

Cafeteria and Deli Manny:

This Chicago cafeteria-style restaurant has the no. 1 in the city. It is right on the edge of the tour, just ten minutes from the expo! A great place to stop for a sandwich and a cup of soup!

Glazed and infused:

Stop for a quick morning surprise! Glazed and Infused has a variety of fresh donuts every morning; they have everything from classics to maple bacon, long johns and banana cream donuts.

Molly's Cupcakes:

Best known for their full cupcakes and fun atmosphere, Molly's is the perfect place for a sugar craving after dinner!

DRINKS: Safe home:

A spy-themed bar for a fun evening for dinner and drinks! SafeHouse is full of secret passageways and hidden doors. This bar is so secret, in fact, you will have to recover a password to access!

Beercade headquarters:

This 'Beercade' will make you feel nostalgic for the days of pinball and classic video games. Not only can all vintage games be played for free, but they also have dozens of craft beers to enjoy.

Coco Club:

A great place if you're looking for something a little more refined, but just as fun. The Coco Club brings the story of a prohibitive era to the present. Prepare for fresh cocktails and great music. Reservation and dress code required.

Green Mill Cocktail Lounge:

If history is your passion, you cannot miss this lounge that is more than 100 years old. Green Mill was even the favorite place of the legendary Chicago Mobster, Al Capone. The vintage atmosphere is complete with live jazz music.

The hiding place:

Since the 1930s, this hole in the wall has been the home of some incredible artists, who have made The Hideout Chicago's most iconic hideout. It is known for showing everything and anything alternative from punk rock, indie and even country. Don't let the outside of the building frighten you, stop for a good drink and quick service.

Things to do: Oz Park:

This park offers a peaceful green space with playful statues of your favorite Wizard of Oz characters. It is the ideal place to take a walk and admire the beautiful autumn weather in Chicago.

Chicago Pizza Tour:

The tour offers you a sample of some pizzas off the EATEN route. You'll also taste a couple of different neighborhoods in Chicago!

Chicago Movie Tour:

See some of the familiar locations of nearly 100 big-screen movies filmed in the city. Sit down and watch films including "The Dark Knight", "Ferris Buller's Day Off" and "My Best Friend's Wedding" come to life right before your eyes.

Driehaus Museum:

Take a trip back to the golden age of Chicago. The museum aims to showcase the architecture of the 19th century mansion and the historically accurate artifacts that fill it.

Immerse yourself in Chicago and learn more about the history that makes our city so fantastic. Lincoln's Chicago, Sensing Chicago and the Fifth Star Challenge are just some of the exhibits the museum has to offer.

Places to go: Lincoln Square:

You won't want to leave this emerging neighborhood. Lincoln Square boasts the charm and history of the past with many cozy shops and stops for your enjoyment.

While you're there, check: Gene's Sausage Shop, Timeless Toys, Old Town School of Folk Music, Salted Spice Shop, Merz Apothecary, The Chopping Block, The Book Cellar, Amy's Candy Bar, Ampersand Wine Bar and Rock & Roll Vintage.

Wicker Park:

This trendy neighborhood has something for everyone: eclectic shops, renowned restaurants and bars, excellent cafes and retail boutiques.

Andersonville:

Andersonville is a quaint neighborhood full of Swedish heritage. It is a great place to take something sweet and wander around. Shopping in Andersonville includes everything from quirky little shops to boutiques that carry designer items, jewelry and other fantastic gift items.

If you need to escape the hustle and bustle of Chicago, take a short trip just outside the city to Evanston. It is the home of Northwestern University, so there is plenty to do! The campus is bordered by Lake Michigan, so you can expect pretty picturesque views!
