Today's stunning Waikato wedding is a fab blend of rustic and boho but is still beautifully elegant. So many details to swoon over (THAT engagement ring, THOSE shoes and the brides quirky white nails just to get you started!), all captured by the awesome with awesome sprinkles Rodrigo Valdes from Valdes Photography. We met at my work. Rob brought his Mum in for an appointment to have an MRI scan and I was on the front desk. We got chatting and one thing led to another.

Describe your wedding style... Rustic, boho, whimsical woodland.

I don't know if we saved on anything lol, probably the cake (I had a friend make it) and the band (which was the best man and his good friend). The splurge items were definitely the dress and shoes.

The bridesmaids walked down the aisle to Norah Jones 'Come away with me'.
I walked down the aisle to 'Somewhere over the rainbow'.
We walked up the aisle to 'Signed, sealed delivered'.
Our first dance was Queen 'Crazy little thing called love'.

The only things we really did ourselves was the wedding invitations and the nametags for the tables.

The most difficult part was sending out invitations and who to invite. The list seemed to keep growing. I also found finding a wedding dress was difficult. I knew what style I wanted (rustic boho) but every bridal shop I went in to I couldn't find anything (don't buy a dress online lol). I ended up having it made and the lady did such an amazing job. It can get very stressful looking for wedding dresses.

The most fun part for us was looking for a venue. We knew we wanted a barn style type wedding but we couldn't find anything in Auckland where we live. We looked online at "barns" and found the Red Barn in Tirau, a couple of hours drive. We first were a bit unsure if we wanted to have it there because of the distance but on our first visit there we fell in love and knew we both wanted it here.

Find a venue where you can B.Y.O alcohol.
Check out aliexpress for decorations.
Each time you get paid, pay something off for the wedding or even set up an A/P for bigger things.
If people offer to help, take it.
Make your own invitations.
Find businesses that are only starting out.
